Atlanta Pianist Jim Tiernan

Atlanta pianist vocalist, Jim Tiernan, is without doubt, Atlanta’s answer to Billy Joel and Elton John meets Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and perhaps, a dash of Michael Buble and a little Harry Connick, Jr. thrown in. His repertoire spans the last 80 years of popular music and standards. He has committed to memory more than 1,000 songs which he can call on and perform on any given night.
Jim shows up complete with his signature, white Panama hat and tuxedo up to an event ready to give any audience sophisticated music in many different styles to suit the feel of the night. What is most important to Jim is the ambiance he has been called in to help create.
He has the flexibility to perform solo piano in the background or if a client prefers a true piano bar style, Jim will add his experienced vocals.
Tiernan was a Pop singer before he knew the meaning of the label. As a youngster growing up in New york City. He attended the New York School of Music and Hunter College. Early in lie, he was heavily influenced vocally by The Everly Brothers, Elvis Presley. As a boy, Jim became trained in classical piano listening to the work of Arthur Rubinstein and dreamed of performing at Carnegie Hall. However, once The Beatles burst on the scene, his whole perspective in music performance changed. Jim is the leader the well-known Atlanta wedding music band, Blue Sky
Tiernan is also capable of being a “One-man band” like some of the pianists mentioned in this category. And this is a great way to go for that certain special event that calls for the essence of a band and yet the client has the budget of an affordable soloist. Many of these gifted musicians have played in a dueling piano formats as well.
A recent testimonial:
Jim, you added so much to the evening, there were so many positive comments about your playing that I know you didn’t hear. I’ll look forward to passing on your name.
